Triple Nickel Driving Tour

We are excited to announce the third event of the 2024 driving tour season!  On Sunday, July 14 the Triple Nickel tour will traverse the entirety of OH-555 as well as other great driving roads in Wayne National Forest.  Renowned as one of the most challenging roads in the United States, this is an excellent opportunity to experience the roller coaster sections of the Triple Nickel.  Refer to the article from Car and Driver.

Preregistration is required via this link.  This is necessary to get an accurate count of drivers and guests, and to determine drive groups and staffing at the restaurant.
The BMW CCA Electronic Waiver is required via this link.  The waiver requires a digital signature and photograph, thus a mobile device is best for this step.

Note: Preregistration DOES NOT take the place of driving event waivers and wristbands.  All Participants MUST sign the waiver form and get a wristband BEFORE starting the tour.
The tour will originate at the Muskingum County Maintenance Lot in Zanesville, OH, located off I-70 at Exit 155.  We will meet at 8:00 AM, get situated, fuel up, confirm electronic waiver signatures, and begin the route at approximately 8:30 AM.  A Marathon station is located a short distance from the meeting location.  The morning segment is 103-miles south/southwest to Athens, OH where we will stop for lunch at Texas Roadhouse.

Parking is located in front, on the sides, and behind the restaurant.

The afternoon segment is 76-miles northwest to Sugar Grove, Ohio for a final gathering at Valley View Hills Winery.  Parking is located next to the building.

Important notes:

• Again, please preregister by clicking on the link to complete the Google Form to indicate you are participating!  We need to get an idea of numbers, organize driving groups, and to provide the restaurant a heads up in advance.
• We are using the BMW CCA electronic waiver system to expedite  registration in the morning.  All participants MUST sign the e-waiver form and get a wrist band at the rendezvous point BEFORE starting the tour!!  Save time and sign the electronic waiver ahead of time!  Just click the link on your phone!
• For those that cannot make the start of the drive, feel free to meet up with us anywhere along the route.  Drivers are also welcome peel off after lunch.  Please email me directly if making alternate plans.
• With the exception of severe weather, the tour will take place rain or shine.

  Please refer to links below for turn by turn directions for each route segment.  These are much easier to follow with a navigator.  Google Maps links require some degree of interaction during the drive.  Rallista is a newer app that is designed for driving events and requires no intervention.  Both contain the same routes, so the choice is yours.
